Blink Reconcile: Artist

BLINK: See Peace Differently produced by Emergency Exit Arts & b-arts.

One of four national artists selected for this original outdoor arts installation that toured the UK throughout November 2019. I was awarded a commission by b-arts based in Stoke-on-Trent.

Responding to informal interviews I conducted with diverse communities around the City and collaborating with a group of local young producers, I went on to create Blink-Reconcile; a participatory, micro-ceremony exploring inner conflict and personal peace. 

The installation invited audiences to take a moment to pause and consider what peace means in a personal context. A soundscape of personal reflections from the interviews, coupled with the same insightful words projected around the space cocooning visitors, encouraged reflection and a call to action. 

Mounted scripts and audio recordings were offered in Polish and Urdu, representing some of the local communities we visited on the national tour.
